The CWL was founded in 1906 by Margaret Fletcher. Her ideal and goal was to form :- “A league of Catholic women with balanced commonsense, who would use business like methods and intellectual gifts as excellent weapons in the service of God"
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the church hall. At our meetings we pray the league prayer, have a talk from a selection of interesting speakers and have a chat over a cup of tea. Examples of talks have been on the Holy Land, the Prison Ministry, Parish Pilgrimage to Poland. Members are encouraged to suggest future talks. If you would like to join but would like someone to accompany you or would need transport, contact the Parish Office. or the CWL Website
A Spiritual Bouquet is being compiled by the Catholic Women’s League for Pope Benedict, comprising Masses, Communions and Rosaries offered for his intentions. Please put prayer slips in the box in the narthex by July 17th.
