We recognise the importance of offering both practical solutions and emotional support. We know that women, at a vulnerable time, are often put under great pressure and denied access to the help they need. We are therefore called to respond with compassion and love to those who are troubled by past decisions.

We support the work of Life, which offers practical help and all relevant counselling services. Close by are two thriving Life houses where pregnant women and new mothers are helped to make a good start in their new lives - for their own sake as well as for that of their child.

We also speak out; challenging those initiatives which threaten vulnerable life and those which, under the guise of helping young people, actually threaten their well being.

We support pro-life organisations and are supported by them in our efforts. We are encouraged to inform ourselves about ‘life’ issues so that we are always ready to speak out in defence of life.

And all the many activities described in these pages which reach out to others also provide a powerful witness to this Parish’s commitment to the Gospel of Life.
