Meditation is a universal spiritual practice. It is experiential, that is to say it is a way of experience rather than theory or thought.
When we first sit to meet, we find a comfortable posture. Silently and interiorly we begin to a say a single word or prayer phrase, known as a mantra. This takes a long time to achieve and we have to be patient. We cannot force anything to happen. The stages of our progress in meditation will come about in their own time, God’s own time.
Meditation simplifies us to the point where we can receive the fullness of truth and love.
Groups enable people to share each other’s inspiration and encouragement and provide a valuable opportunity to listen to the teaching which is recommended by the World Community of Christian Meditation.
The important aim of Christian Meditation is to allow God’s silent and mysterious presence within us to become more and more not only a reality but the reality which gives meaning and purpose to all we are and do.
We meet in the Meeting Room on Tuesday mornings between 9am - 10am. Get details from the Parish Office if you are interested in joining the group or Contact the Parish Office here.
